The Spring semester is here, and the APERO Brown Bag Lecture will soon begin. We would like to extend an invitation to you to give a lecture this semester on a topic related to Africa.

The lecture series continues to grow and fulfill the objective of focusing the attention of the University and the Athens community on topics of significant current or historical interest to Africa.

The lecture is attended by the AFST students, as well as other UGA students, faculty, and staff interested in learning more about Africa. The lecture is held biweekly on Wednesdays from 12.40 p.m. to 1.30 p.m. in Peabody Hall, room 105. Speakers who are interested in giving a presentation should be aware that they can do so virtually or in person.

Below are the available dates from which you can choose, the lecture series officially starts on February 1st, 2023. If you are interested, kindly send an email to Gbemisola.Talabi@uga.edu or David.Olali@uga.edu.

  • February –  1st and 15th
  • March –  1st, 15th and 29th
  • April – 12th and 26th

If you think you have an interesting topic but want feedback or suggestions for developing an idea into a presentation, please send an email too.

We look forward to hearing from you.
