Minor in African Studies (MAS) The program will provide students with an understanding of the people, languages, vegetation, political traditions, and unique economic practices of the African continent. Graduate Certificate in African Studies (GCAS) The Graduate Certificate in African Studies is designed to provide invaluable knowledge about Africa and an international perspective on the continent on the global scene. Minor in African Languages and Literature (MALL) The program provides students with a coordinated, and valuable understanding of the multi-dimensional aspects of the linguistic and literary life on the African continent. Minor in Swahili Language (MSL) The program provides students with the exposure and rare opportunity to learn and study the Swahili language, history, and culture. Program in African Languages (PAL) The program offers regular courses in major African languages, including Amharic, Arabic, Swahili, Yoruba, Manding, and Zulu, with levels ranging from beginner to advanced.
